Below is a list of frequently asked questions, or simply some extra info just in case. This list will be extended as more issues arise.
- Q: What is roleplay and 'RPG'?
A: Roleplay in any form involves literally creating a character and taking on their role. This RPG (role playing game) is a text-based one where writing is emphasized and the 'posts' (individual RPG contributions) are written in third person, like a novel.
Forum based RPG is like writing a novel with several other people, where each person controls one or more characters.
- Q: How do I post a character biography?
Click on the 'Biography' board and click on the character form thread. Read the thread to find out what to put in each section and then copy the form from the code box below. Then go back to the main Biography board and click [New Thread].
Paste the form into the post
Title the thread with your character's name and species. Make sure to use correct punctuation and grammar while you fill out the form, and don't fret if I reply asking you to change something, it's perfectly normal for the acceptance process to take a few or even many tries until it's just right.
Click [Post Message] when your done, and viola!
If you are not done and cannot save it on your computer, you can put [WIP] in the thread title and post it, then go back and [Modify] it later, as long as you actually go back and do it soon ;3 - Q: How do I get a canon character?
A: To apply for a canon, read through the canon list, read up on them if necessary and then use the form in the Canon List thread [replying to the topic, to post it] to post an RP example of how you will play the character.
Unless your completely hopeless at writing, you ignore the rules and you make the character nothing like he or she was in canon then chances are you'll get it, we're not elitists here. - Q: Why'd you make three skins? How do I change mine?
A: Why not? My friend DIW fixed the logo I made so it had three different color choices, I couldn't choose so I decided to make three skins to go along with them. There will probably be even more skins in the future with different logo images.
-You can change your skin by clicking [Profile], entering your password twice then scrolling down to the [Skin] drop down box and selecting whichever color you wish.
My favorite at the moment is Menagerie because I love rainbows <3
- Q: Can I be staff?
A: Depends, really, I'm looking for main requirements in my staff members, knowledge of the subject matter (in this case, The Lion King), Writing skills (can write two to five well written, flowing and grammatically acceptable paragraphs), Proboards or HTML knowledge (not required, as long as your willing to learn a little), trust worthiness and a willingness to do actual work (if your not willing to help me advertise, sort threads and read biographies just don't bother asking).
If you fit these requirements, feel free to PM me asking for a position (though understand that this does not mean you'll get one), or if you exhibit some of these qualities in the RPG, I may approach you and ask you to be staff. - Q: We can't take/use/edit other people's art without their permission right?
A: Yes.
Q: So what if you can't find someone to draw your picture, you "can't" draw your own, no real photo will match and you "can't" find someone who will give permission?
A:
Well, you can go without a picture, nothing wrong with that, it is not required though it is nice to have.
Or you can use a template! Like ones here Some artists offer templates that you can color and edit to look like your character.
HOWEVER a template is only a template if the artist says it is, and even then you can only use it if they mentioned that is is free to use.
You also can't just steal someone's picture or line art and color it, then use it, that's another form of art thievery (grr).
